The owner of the local coin-operated laundry will attempt to put a new spin on the Keene Chamber of Commerce.
Gwen Beeson, owner of Wash Depot, was elected president of the 183-member organization at a breakfast meeting of the board of directors Friday.
The Chamber board — per its bylaws — elects its officers.
Beeson, who is beginning the second year of her second three-year term, was elected on the first ballot.
Other officers are vice president Mark Miosi, treasurer Sarah Layton, secretary Jessica Lozano and membership director Samantha Gillin, who will also continue in her role as volunteer coordinator.
Others on the nine-member board are Glen Ball, Jere Putnam, Dr. Luis Retamozo and Sharon Vaughn.
Miosi, Retamozo and Vaughn were newly elected to the board by the membership for three-year terms.
Issues facing the board include finding ways to support the city’s new strategic plan, continued cooperation with the Type A and Type B boards, design and introduction of a new logo, design of some type of functional membership directory and greater use of the Internet.
