Once it was confirmed the Road to Recovery riders would travel through Keene on April 4, Police Chief Rocky Alberti and businessman Yddo Ortiz — Keene Chamber ambassador — went to work to ensure a crowd of spectators would be waiting to greet them.
Alberti contacted the principals at the local schools to ask students to alert their parents to line Old Betsy Road. Ortiz solicited businesses for financial support to purchase a banner with the words "Let’s Roll" on it.

The banner was made possible through the financial support of seven Keene Chamber of Commerce businesses: General Insurance, Gillin Realty, Hearts & Flowers, Keene Pharmacy, Read-Billingsley Real Estate, Reid’s Car Care, Signs of Success, Putnam Service, Wash Depot and Zitro Inc., and Tomblinson Real Estate.
The Keene Chamber also assisted.
Putnam Service supplied a vehicle to help support the banner above Old Betsy Road, along with the ladder truck provided by Keene Fire-Rescue. Other organizations involved in providing posters, signs, flags and other support were Chisholm Trail Academy, the Keene Adventist Church, the Keene Police Department, Southwestern Adventist University and Town Hall Estates.
