It was a perfect night for a parade and pyrotechnics as Keene’s 13th annual Christmas Light Parade and Fireworks Show entertained a large crowd on Sunday.
Police Chief Rocky Alberti and Capt. Dean Turk estimated the number of spectators along the parade route at about 4,000.
Organizers Tim and Tracy Sinclair, Mickey Johnson, Donny and Penny Gore, Ryan Sinclair and Travis Sinclair said it was the best combination of weather, entries, spectators and fireworks in the event’s history.
Between 71-75 entries rolled down Old Betsy Road.
The horse-drawn carriage representing Southwestern Adventist University won the award for the best overall entry.
Other winning entries were: Best Antique Car, Bobby and Mary Ann Hodges; Best Adventurer Club, DeSoto Adventist Church; Best Pathfinder Club, Fort Worth First Adventist Church; Most Unique Entry, Fort Worth Spanish Church; Best Artistic Impression, Relay for Life; Best Children’s Entry, Peterson’s Gym; Best Business Entry, Reid’s Car Care; Best Animal Entry, Alan, Chrissie, Kilory and Nikki Weis; Best Lighted Float, Fort Worth Tiger Adventurers, and Best Lighted Vehicle, a motorcycle ridden by Lonnie and Mandy Ballenger.
