Keene Mayor James Chapline will present his "State of the City" address at the monthly luncheon of the Keene Chamber of Commerce at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Keene Adventist Church Annex, (formerly the Keene Senior Center) at 207 E 1st St.
Please note the luncheon is the fifth Thursday of the month instead of the chamber's usual meeting on the fourth Thursday.
The luncheon will be catered by Mr. Jim's Pizza of Keene. The cost is $12 per person for those who RSVP by March 27 to 817-556-2995 or pay in advance on the chamber's website. Non RSVPs are $15 at the door.
Chapline was elected Mayor in 2014 and re-elected in 2016 for a two-year term. Prior to 2014, he served three years on the City Council following eight years as a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, including servings as P&Z chair.
Chapline will talk about the city's new comprehensive plan, construction of the new city hall and community events center currently in progress, new developments at the Wayne Tomblinson Industrial Park, business development along U.S. Hwy. 67, and other developments concerning business and residential aspects of the city.
The Mayor will also deliver a similar address during a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 23, at the Keene Adventist Church Annex.
